We all have relationships.
You have relationships with your parents.
You have relationships with those you love.
You have relationships with your kids, if you have kids.
You have relationships with friends.
We have relationships with people you work with.
You have all kinds of relationships with all kinds of people, then WHY don't you have relationships with the people who
you want to join programs through you?
You run around placing ads, doing the traffic exchanges, Safelists and all the rest. And then, as if a gift from above,
someone joins a program because of what you did.
And then what do you do?
You run around some more, placing more ads and keep doing what you were doing, but not getting anywhere fast. A sign
up once in a while and that's about it.
How can you do better? How can you get people who trust you enough to join your programs with you and
not the other guy?
You can build a relationship with the people who you want to recruit. And I don't mean you have to have them all over
for dinner or a BBQ.
And how do you do that?
By building a mailing list of course.
And how do you do that?
Well, there are a lot of ways to build a mailing list. But the key to building one is to offer someone something they
want, if they sign up for your list. Some people do it with a News Letter. Some with E-books. Some with Marketing Courses.
Some programs have this taken care of for you with a set of autoresponder messages that tell them about the program and
give them reasons to join. That builds a sort of relationship and helps sign ups, but it's not quite the same as having your
own list.
When you offer someone something they need or want you are taking the first steps toward building not only a mailing
list, but trust. People need to trust you if they are going to join something with you. They need to know that you are there
for them and will help them figure out how to make this work.
But even having a mailing list, doesn't automatically mean you are going to succeed. What you mail to that list
is as important as building the list itself.
You can't treat your list like just some kind of fancy Safelist you get to mail to. If you do that, then why even bother
to build it in the first place? If all you are to your list is some kind of commercial, they will turn you off and never read
what you have to say.
If you have a list, you must offer things to the people reading it that helps them get to know you, as well as offer
free advice and tips.
Think about this. What keeps you reading the E-zines and News Letters you subscribe to?
You have gotten to know the person or persons who publish them. You trust them. They tell you about themselves. They
offer interesting articles that help you out. They keep you interested. And that's what you need to do with your list.
Now, I can write and I've been around long enough to know how things work in this Internet World of Marketing. But you
might be thinking that you have a hard enough time writing a "Welcome aboard Letter," let alone marketing tips and ideas.
Well, I have a solution for you.
There are Websites that offer articles for free that you can place in News Letters and E-zines. All you have to do to
use these articles is include the signature and links of the writer. And there, you have your content covered if you can't
write yourself.
Here are some links to sites which offer articles:
If you do write, you can submit your own articles to these sites for E-zine and News Letter publisher to look at and
to use with your name and links at the bottom. This will get your name out as well as your links. This works best if you have
your own Website. And not just the ones companies give to everyone when they join.
And, when people from your list join programs with you, help them do want you are doing. Help them set
up their own lists. Help them get ahead and they will help you at the same time.
To stand out from the crowd, you have to give people a reason to join with you instead of the other guy.
Building trust through a mailing list is one of the best ways to do it.
